What our certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise means to our team

Discover the significance of our history as a recognized woman-owned business

Despite the fact that 70.3% of all human resources managers are women, the gender pay gap is still prevalent in the profession, with female HR managers earning $0.94 for every $1 earned by a male HR manager. [1]

What is PER’s history as a woman-owned business?

In 1997, PER was founded by Tina Compton, who has proudly led the organization since then as the President of the company with her extensive experience and operational background in the PEO industry.

Before starting her own business, Tina served as Vice President and corporate controller for one of the largest PEOs in the U.S., which provided her with the foundation to successfully lead PER in providing cost-effective outsourcing of human resource services to its clients.

What certifications does PER hold as a woman-owned business?

PER is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which is the most well-known and highly-regarded certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S.

To be certified as a WBE, PER had to undergo a thorough analysis by the WBENC to prove that it was at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman (or women), which is apparent in Tina’s responsibility for setting the overall corporate strategy and directing the business plan for scalability.

In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, PER takes pride in highlighting the women who fill leadership roles on our team and work each and every day to provide outstanding services to our clients in their respective fields.
