Despite the fact that 70.3% of all human resources managers are women, the gender pay gap is still prevalent in the profession with female HR managers earning $0.94 for every $1 earned by a male HR manager.
As a Certified Professional Employer Organization (CPEO) that offers HR outsourcing services to small and mid-sized businesses, our team at PER is proud to be a woman-owned business.

What is PER’s history as a woman-owned business?
In 1997, PER was founded by Tina Compton who has proudly led the organization since then as the President of the company with her extensive experience and operational background in the PEO industry.
Before starting her own business, Tina served as Vice President and corporate controller for one of the largest PEOs in the U.S., which provided her with the foundation to successfully lead PER in providing cost-effective outsourcing of human resource services to its clients.
What certifications does PER hold as a woman-owned business?
PER is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which is the most well-known and highly-regarded certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S.
To be certified as a WBE, PER had to undergo a thorough analysis by the WBENC to prove that it was at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman (or women), which is apparent in Tina’s responsibility for setting the overall corporate strategy and directing the business plan for scalability.
In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, PER takes pride in highlighting the women that fill leadership roles on our team and work each and every day to provide outstanding services to our clients in their respective fields.
What does PER’s certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise offer to its clients?
As a certified WBE, our team is able to access an expansive network of support, increased visibility, development programs, networking opportunities, and much more with thousands of fellow business professionals that are committed to the advancement of women-owned businesses.
“Our certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise allows our team to access so many programs and resources that allow us to further grow, thrive, and better serve our clients with the extensive capabilities of a full-service PEO,” shares Tina.
